About Shore Poets

The Shore Poets are an informal but durable collective which has been providing a platform for new poets to read alongside more established names on the Scottish scene since 1991, when Brian Johnstone and Ros Brackenbury began organizing a series of readings at Leith's Shore Gallery.

Shore Poets monthly events currently take place in the friendly atmosphere of the Lot, 4–6 Grassmarket, Edinburgh EH1 2JU

All events start at 7.45pm and run until approximately 10.15pm

Refreshments are available throughout the evening

Admission to events is £4 (concessions £3)

Each poet reads for 15 to 20 minutes and there are three 10-minute music spots during the evening

Our current programme of readings runs on the last Sunday of the month between September to June
